We suggest that you follow these guidelines to ensure that you receive the most optimal outcome for the treatment process.

 

In some cases we may need to return to the premises where there is a severe infestation.

 

PREPERATION FOR PEST AND TERMITE TREATMENT | PRECAUTIONS

 

• Please advise our technician of any pets or family members who are around at the time of treatment who may have allergies - If you have any concerns please ask our staff before the treatment begins

• Try to keep all pets and people away from treatment areas until dry

• Please make sure your home is well ventilated after treatment

• We recommend you cover all food items and utensils

• If there are any persons who are sensitive or suffer from allergies, they should preferably remain off the premises for twenty four (24) hours and return after the premises has been well ventilated

 

You should allow 14 - 21 days for the products to take full effect

 

This applies especially to cockroaches and rodents.

 

Shortly after treatment you may continue to see pests as the treatment can flush them out from their hiding places.

 

If you continue to see dead pests, this is a sign that the treatment is working.

 

Access to areas where rodent baits have been placed must be restricted.

 

GENERAL PEST AND TERMITE TREATMENT | RECOMMENDATIONS

 

If you are planning to have any high pressure, carpet or specialised cleaning done, it is best to do this before treatment.

 

The products are designed to be safe for pets, however as a safety precaution, animals such as dogs will need to be kept somewhere safe during treatment.

 

We recommend that you do not have any washing on your clothes line during treatment.

 

You do not have to clean up after the treatment.

 

Do not remove webs from external surfaces for at least two weeks after treatment.

1. Make Sure Your House Is Clean and Dry

 

• Many insects and rodents are attracted to food and water, so start off by making your home less enticing to pests

• Keep bathroom and kitchen areas as dry as possible - Fix leaky taps and don't let standing water accumulate

• Keep ripe fruit in the fridge

• If you have a pet, comb it regularly with a flea comb and wash its bedding frequently, be sure to vacuum floors, rugs and upholstery your pet comes in contact with regularly

 

2. Seal Entryways and Doorways

 

• Deny access to new pests by making sure potential entry points are sealed off

• Use silicone to seal any cracks and crevices in baseboards, moldings, cupboards, pipes, ducts, sinks, toilets and electrical outlets

• Place screens in front of heating and cooling vents, and repair holes in any existing screens, the average mouse found in homes can squeeze through a hole the size of a twenty cent coin

• Keep vegetation and other debris away from the exterior of your house so pests can't climb up and in

 

3. Try Chemical-Free Strategies

 

Now that you're denying pests food, shelter and access, it's time to put the squeeze on any lingering intruders.

 

To solve your pest problems without using chemical pesticides, you can:

 

• Vacuum for individual bugs or nests (bugs will usually suffocate in the bag)

• Set traps (flytraps, jar traps, pheromone traps, light traps, etc...)

• Use a swatter

• Use a chemical free spray

 

4. Minimise Exposure Risks

 

When using any pesticide, be sure to limit the exposure of everyone in your household.

 

• Avoid frequent, preventative applications - Never exceed the application rate indicated in the instructions

• When applying pesticides, follow all precautions listed on the label, such as wearing gloves, masks or goggles

• Make sure any baits, traps or pesticide residues are kept out of reach of children and pets

• Never dump leftover pesticides in the garbage, on the lawn, or down the drain, where it could contaminate the soil or drinking water
